The Winter Olympics is one of the biggest sports events in the world. The great athletes in the world come together to compete to see who the best in the world. They have people-- men and women-- from all over the world. Although the original Olympics began more than a thousand years ago, modern Olympics bean in 1896. The 2010 Winter Olympics was held in Vancouver. They start on February 12 and they end on February 28. The Olympics are fascinating because it is such a large event and because skiing is an event that many people enjoy. To begin, the modern Olympics games were footraces, jumping, discus and javelin throwing, boxing, wrestling, and other events came over from ancient Olympics (Modern Olympic Games). The revival of first modern Olympics was 1896(Modern Olympic Games). The first modern Olympics were held in Athens Greece (History of the Olympics). He wanted the new games would bring back the physical, mental, and spiritual showed in Ancient games, as well as bring courage and endurance and know a feel of fair play throughout all who participated (History of the Olympics). The U.S.A is predicted to win this event (U.S. Ski Team).
